Bill & Melinda Gates Don’t Discuss Their Takeover of America’s Public Schools

March 8, 2019 By Nancy Bailey 15 Comments

Bill and Melinda Gates’s 2019 letter “We Didn’t See This Coming,” is filled with their concerns and optimism about everything from commodes to climate change. Always eager to discuss their global initiatives to help the poor, and a variety of other endeavors, they say little about the aggressive ways they are remaking public education to their […]

More on Memphis School Cuts and the Broad and Gates Foundations

April 14, 2016 By Nancy Bailey 6 Comments

The Blues City is earning its name when it comes to public schools. Both the Broad and Gates Foundations have seen to it. The other day I posted about cuts to Memphis (Shelby County Schools). I was quickly reminded, rightly so, that these were proposed cuts—like maybe there would be some kind of rollback in […]

Transforming Teacher Preparation—Gates Style

November 20, 2015 By Nancy Bailey 2 Comments

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have a quote on their website that says “Nobody knows teaching like teachers.” If they believe that, why don’t they let teachers teach the way they know best? Or, why don’t they ask them what they need to teach better? Instead, Mr. and Mrs. Gates are going to now […]

As babies explore cause and effect it’s not uncommon to see them test ideas over and over to see if the same thing happens each time. Watch this little guy studying the shadow he’s making on the rug. You’re seeing his brain make connections in real time.

Notice how the legislation is use to negate the value of choice and options. Meanwhile PUB EDU DOES NOT COMPLY WITH IDEA. Law means NOTHING in schools. Districts will spend more $ to avoid serving kids than it would cost to serve them. Do your research. Don’t believe the hype. https://twitter.com/dianeravitch/status/1637123379458088962

Voucher schools don’t have to comply with IDEA for kids with disabilities. They are allowed to discriminate for any reason or none at all. #schoolschoose https://twitter.com/katielikesbikes/status/1636446553429647376

I asked ChatGPT "Is the 'science of reading' settled science that determines how reading should be taught?" Here's the response. https://nancyebailey.com/2023/03/19/what-does-chatgpt-say-about-the-science-of-reading-it-may-surprise-you/
